Hand-cut crystal with chamfered edge and beveled patterns of crosses, crosspieces, palmettes and stylized stars with a beautiful star under the base, a guarantee of quality work. For information, the goldsmith friedrich wilhelm quist (1831-1903), the main shareholder, became the owner in 1890 of the company founded in 1866 with jacob schweizer and other goldsmiths in stuttgart (germany). He moved it to esslingen am neckar (germany) to become fw quist metallwaarenfabrik which his family managed until 1951. It closed its doors after filing for bankruptcy in 1981.
