3385 – cut crystal and silver plated metal biscuit maker fw quist (1831-1903) from the art deco period, of very good quality, this cut crystal biscuit maker has a silver plated metal frame hallmarked quist with a star in good condition. No major cracks or chips with micro-scratches from normal use for this type of object. Hand-cut crystal with chamfered edge and beveled patterns of crosses, crosspieces, palmettes and stylized stars with a beautiful star under the base, a guarantee of quality work. Beautiful design of this frame with handle and cover in good condition. Height 228 mm X 225 mm X 135 mm. Weight 1350 g. Careful and tracked shipping. For information, the goldsmith friedrich wilhelm quist (1831-1903), the main shareholder, became the owner in 1890 of the company founded in 1866 with jacob schweizer and other goldsmiths in stuttgart (germany). He moved it to esslingen am neckar (germany) to become fw quist metallwaarenfabrik which his family managed until 1951. It closed its doors after filing for bankruptcy in 1981.
