Description
Tea or coffee service from the art deco period (1920-1930) made in Belgium by the Cérabel factory. Double platinum fillet decoration. This service includes: 10 round cups, 10 twelve-sided saucers (12 sides) typical of the art deco style, 1 coffee pot and 1 sugar bowl. Note that the coffee maker was broken at its base and at the level of the pouring spout, it was restored using the kintsugi technique (restoration with traditional Japanese gold powder), it is therefore not in used condition, but is a very decorative element. The restoration is visible in the photos. In the Japanese tradition, a ceramic restored by this traditional technique has more value because it proudly displays the accidents due to age... quite a philosophy! The remainder of the service is in excellent condition given its age and can be used normally. Dimensions: cups, diameter 10.5 cm. Saucers, diameter: 14 cm. Sugar bowl: l 20 x ht 18 x d 7 cm. Coffee maker: l 24 x h 25 x d 8 cm.
