Print of a steel engraving made by mick micheyl. Dimensions 59x49. She gave it to me in 1995. Before launching into steel engraving in 1974, Ms. Micheyl enjoyed success as a singer-songwriter in 1949 in Paris where she performed in numerous cabarets and at galas, becoming one of the stars of the post-war period with several successes including "Un Gard de Paris", covered by Yves Montand. With "The Poetry Merchant", Mick Micheyl won the ABC Grand Prize for French Song in 1949 and the Charles Cros Academy Grand Prize in 1951. From 1974, she devoted herself entirely to sculpture on imposing steel plates, "a passion born while watching a mechanic friend who worked on rusty scrap metal". “I understood that you could draw on steel with the light of the sanding flames,” says Mick Micheyl. A recognized visual artist, Mick Micheyl has exhibited numerous times in France and abroad.
