Beige reupholstered mid-century modern sofa model saturn by hans-erik johansson. Very rare "saturn" sofa designed by swedish designer hans-erik johansson and produced in 1969. The sofa's body is made of glassfiber, the structure is made of aluminium. The sofa has been reupholostered in a beige bouclé. The sofa's wonderful shapes reflect hans-erik johannson's fascination with aerodynamic shapes used in air force design. The design also shows a strong retro futuristic influence typical for the era he designed the sofa. Also the name seems to play into this. He is perhaps one of the most enigmatic swedish furniture designer of the post-war period. Even though johansson created some of the 20th century's most spectacular swedish-made seating furniture, his career in the furniture industry was relatively short. Despite that, hans-erik johansson managed to design and lead the production of seating furniture with striking aerodynamic features.
