Biedermeier Secretary Desk with Roll Top and Walnut Marquetry, Germany, 19th Century

This beautiful secretary comes from germany from the beginning of 19th century. The piece is made of coniferous wood, veneered with extraordinary walnut veneer, with very detailed marquetry with floral motifs and a figure of a young man, perhaps a young hunter. When pulling up the rolled top, the center part unfolds easily into a writing desktop revealing a section with multiple drawers. Below the writing top you will find two spacious drawers with original locks and fittings. The chest is set on four tapered legs that add extra lightness and elegance. This secretary desk has undergone a professional renovation process. Surface is finished with shellac polish, applied by hand which in addition to excellent visual effect protects and cares for the wood. Absolutely exquisite piece, fully ready for everyday use.
