Robert Delaunay is a French painter born April 12, 1885 in Paris and died October 25, 1941 in Montpellier. With his wife Sonia Delaunay and a few others, he is the founder and main architect of the Orphist movement, a branch of Cubism and an important avant-garde movement of the early 20th century.
