Barcelona Ottoman by Mies Van Der Rohe

Off-white aqua leather finish. The Barcelona range was designed by Mies van der Rohe for the German pavilion at the 1929 Barcelona International Exhibition. Opulent, but resolutely modern in appearance, this armchair takes its shape from the Roman folding curule chair. A Knollstudio signature produced according to the original specifications of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Exclusive manufacturing and distribution rights were granted by the designer in 1953. The Knollstudio logo and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's signature are engraved on the base of each leg. The structure and the leg are made of flat drawn steel with a bright chrome finish. 40 squares of leather assembled by stitching with piping and buttons of the same leather for the seat and back cushions. The seat and back cushions are adapted to the curvature of the frame. The color of the edges of the straps matches the color of the upholstery.
