Teak Boat Wheel Helm – Late 19th Century

Rudder bar whose wheel has a brass rim. This boat wheel is made up of 8 turned wooden spokes and the same number of sleeves, used to maneuver. In the center the hub is solid and has the hole used to insert the axle called the “drive square”, which serves to make the link between the bar and the rudder.
